FAQ
What is Sip & Wag?
Sip & Wag is an Australian dog wellness brand inspired by my dog Ziggy. Our first formula combines hydration and gut health support in one daily serve, with electrolytes, prebiotics, probiotics and L-glutamine in a fast-dissolving powder that can be mixed with water or food.
Why is Sip & Wag different from other dog supplements?
Most dog supplements focus on a single benefit and are typically served as powders, chews or tablets.
Sip & Wag combines hydration and gut support in one convenient daily serve and can be mixed with water, poured over food or sprinkled onto meals. This flexible format helps simplify daily wellness routines while giving dogs multiple ways to enjoy it.
Why Hydration & Gut Support?
Hydration and gut health both play an important role in your dog’s everyday wellbeing.
Healthy hydration supports normal body function, while a balanced gut helps support digestion, nutrient absorption, and overall health.
After watching Ziggy recover from parvovirus, a condition that affects the gut lining and can contribute to dehydration, I became interested in the connection between the two.
That’s why our first formula combines electrolytes, prebiotics, and probiotics in one simple daily serve.
Why doesn't Sip & Wag contain more probiotics?
Sip & Wag was formulated with a focus on balance, not simply the highest possible probiotic count.
Our formula contains 2.5 billion CFU from two carefully selected strains: Bacillus coagulans and Lactobacillus acidophilus. While probiotics can support digestive health, introducing excessive amounts may not suit every dog and can sometimes lead to temporary digestive upset in sensitive animals.
We chose a level designed to provide daily digestive support while working alongside our 2,000mg prebiotic dose, creating a balanced approach to gut health rather than relying on probiotic numbers alone.
What's actually in hydration & gut product?
Electrolytes Sodium chloride (sea salt), Potassium chloride, Magnesium citrate, Dextrose (glucose)
Gut Support Inulin (chicory root) 2,000mg, L-Glutamine 500mg
Probiotics Bacillus coagulans 1.5 billion CFU, Lactobacillus acidophilus 1 billion CFU
Vitamins Vitamin B9 (Folate), Vitamin B12 (Cobalamin)
Palatability Hydrolysed beef liver

What are the signs of dehydration in dogs?
Common signs of dehydration in dogs include dry gums, lethargy, excessive panting, reduced skin elasticity, loss of appetite and sunken eyes. If you suspect severe dehydration, contact your veterinarian immediately.
How much water should my dog drink each day?
Most dogs require approximately 50-60mL of water per kilogram of body weight per day, although requirements can increase during hot weather, exercise, illness or travel.
What are electrolytes and why are they important for dogs?
Electrolytes are minerals such as sodium, potassium and magnesium that help support hydration, muscle function and normal body processes. Dogs can lose electrolytes through exercise, heat, illness or stress.
Can dogs drink electrolyte supplements?
Yes. Electrolyte supplements formulated specifically for dogs can help support hydration and replenish important minerals. Always choose products designed for canine use.
What do probiotics do for dogs?
Probiotics help support a healthy balance of beneficial bacteria in the digestive tract. They may assist with digestive health, stool quality and overall gut function.
What do prebiotics do for dogs?
Prebiotics act as food for beneficial gut bacteria, helping probiotics thrive and supporting a healthy digestive system.

Any time of day works and the most important thing is consistency. Many dog owners find it easiest to give it in the morning as part of their regular feeding routine. It's also particularly useful after exercise, in hot weather, during travel, or any time your dog's routine is disrupted.
Can I freeze it to make pupsicles?
Yes! This is one of our favourite ways to use it, especially in summer. Dissolve one scoop in water and pour into a silicone mould. Freeze and serve as a cooling treat. The electrolytes and prebiotics remain effective when frozen.
Can puppies use Sip & Wag?
Sip & Wag is formulated for adult dogs. For puppies under 12 months, we recommend consulting your vet before use.
Can I give it to my senior dog?
Absolutely. Senior dogs often benefit most from daily hydration and gut support, particularly dogs with joint issues, reduced mobility, or those on long-term medications. If your senior dog has any health conditions, check with your vet first.
Who is Ziggy?
Ziggy is a groodle and the reason Sip & Wag exists. Before his fourth birthday he survived parvovirus, underwent a total hip replacement, and had two ACL surgeries. He lives with arthritis and noise anxiety every day.
Every Sip & Wag formula was developed because of something Ziggy went through.
